Comparative Private Law

The course will begin by an introduction to comparative law methodology and a review of different legal traditions and cultures. It will then use comparative methodology to examine a range of legal problems relating to tort law. The legal solutions adopted by a variety of legal systems will be considered and compared. The course will also consider the law of contract from a comparative perspective, focusing on the comparative relevance of good faith in contractual relations and differing approaches to performance and breach.

The course will be taught in English.
