Film Studies

Critical and theoretical writing on cinema emerged very shortly after the birth of the medium, helping to establish cinema as a technical, artistic and cultural entity in its own right. It was not, however, until the 1970s that an academic discipline known as "Film Studies" was established — a discipline that has continued to evolve to this day, renewing approaches and even redefining the meaning of the terms "cinema" or "films". The course will explore this history — or certain key moments within it — and its fruitful intersections with other fields – psychoanalysis, sociology, history, cultural studies, gender and queer studies, environmental studies, etc.

• REGIME STANDARD Session 2 (dite de 2nd chance): CT 100% Contrôle Terminal: 1 note, évaluation Ecrite 2h.

• STANDARD SCHEME Session 2 (second-chance exam): Terminal Assessment (CT) 100% : 1 grade, 2-hour written exam.

Within the framework of this course unit (EC), unless explicitly authorized by the instructor, the use of AI to assist in completing continuous assessment assignments submitted for evaluation is prohibited. Students are not allowed to use generative AI for documentation, brainstorming, structuring, writing or editing.
