Description
This course explores the economic analysis of market competition, firm behavior, and the role of competition policy. It covers theoretical models of market structure, strategic interactions among firms, and make reference to many real-world examples. Topics include notably standard models involving exogenous market structure, quality and advertising, mergers and cartel.
Objectifs
By the end of this course, students should be able to :
- Understand how different economic features (related to e.g., market structure, product characteristics or information) impact firm strategy and market outcomes ;
- Use those models to analyse real-world markets and decode or anticipate firm strategies.
