Description
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of financial management within a corporate setting. It aims to equip students with the tools and knowledge necessary to understand, analyze, and apply financial information for effective decision-making.
The course covers key financial concepts, including financial reporting, financial analysis, and company valuation, which are essential for managing and growing a business in today's dynamic environment.
The course is divided into three main parts :
- Introduction to Financial Statements : This section introduces the fundamental financial statements—balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. The focus will be on recognizing key components of each statement and the role they play in overall financial reporting.
- Financial Analysis : In this part, students will develop the ability to analyze financial statements using various tools such as ratio analysis, trend analysis, and benchmarking. The objective is to enable students to critically evaluate financial data and make informed recommendations for improving financial outcomes.
- Company Valuation : The final section of the course addresses the methods used to determine a company's value. They will gain insights into the factors that influence a company's market value and how to apply these techniques in real-world business scenarios.
Objectifs
By the end of this course, students will be able to :
- Understand the structure and purpose of the three key financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement).
- Interpret and extract meaningful information from financial reports.
- Apply financial analysis tools such as ratio analysis, trend analysis, and benchmarking to assess a company’s performance.
- Evaluate a company’s financial health and identify areas for improvement.
- Understand the main valuation techniques and their practical application in corporate finance.
- Analyze the factors that affect a company’s market value in different economic and strategic contexts.
- Use financial data to support sound business and investment decisions.
- Communicate financial insights effectively in both written and oral formats.
